June 5: Free Yoga & Rosé on The Dock

Free outdoor yoga and a complimentary glass of rosé? Count me in! This event is happening almost every Wednesday thru August, but rosé is only included on a few special nights. All yogi levels welcome.

June 6: Glassblowing Workshop by Glassybaby

I’m a huge fan of Glassybaby’s products and now you can take a workshop with them. From their website, “Work one-on-one with a professional glassblower to create your own bowl, float or paperweight in the colors of your choice.”

June 8: Modern Calligraphy Class with The Fancy Cat Studio

My good friend Crystal from The Fancy Cat Studio is hosting a modern calligraphy class at the Carpe Diem Collective in West Seattle. She is one of the best calligraphers I know and the sweetest person to learn from! I promise you will learn a new skill, make friends and have a great time!

The final show of the season at the Pacific Northwest Ballet is a mix of different performances which I’m sure will make a perfect show!

June 9: Layered Cake Workshop

StudioLife holds many fun workshops but in this class learn from Delicately Sweet Confections how to make a layered cake for your next loved one’s birthday. From their website, “You will you learn how to cut, fill and stack a 3 layer cake to get a beautiful leveled cake, you will also learn how to crumb coat and frost the cake with different textures, including this pallet knife floral technique!”

June 9: House Plants 101 Class at Volunteer Park

It took me a long time to learn how to care for my plants, I wish I had known about this workshop years ago! From the Volunteer Park website, “You’ll learn about indoor plant care including proper light, watering, when to fertilize, and troubleshooting.”

June 19: Mastering Meringue Cooking Class

Having grown up in a family bakery, I know how fun baking with friends can be. This meringue class promises to teach you simple techniques and includes lots of sweet treats. From the Book Larder website, “In this class you'll learn how to whip egg whites and sugar into perfect summer treats, which incorporate the flavors of the season and are sure to impress your dinner guests.”

Who doesn’t love peonies? Grab a girlfriend and put together a beautiful flower arrangements at Fiori Floral Design. As a fan of simplicity and minimalism, I’ve always been interested in the art of ikebana floral design. From the I Love Ikebana website, “Ikebana reflects the person who arranged it. Using flowers, we create beauty with our own feelings.”

This event is so much fun and I’ve attended for the past few years. June 29: Jam-Making Workshop

I watched my parents make giant batches of jam every year but I never fully learned how to make them! This Kick Out the Jams workshop will run you through the whole process from start to finish, including tasting, and then you go home with your jam at the end of the class.
